These communities frequently view discussions about sex as taboo, fearing that such education may encourage promiscuity or undermine traditional values (Bearak et al., 2020). This resistance is not unique to any particular region but is observed globally, from rural areas in sub-Saharan Africa to small towns in the United States. For instance, studies have shown that many conservative communities prioritize abstinence-only education over comprehensive programs, which are proven to delay sexual initiation and reduce risky behaviors (Santelli et al., 2018). Despite evidence supporting the effectiveness of comprehensive sex education, its adoption remains hindered by misconceptions and ideological opposition.

One of the primary challenges in implementing sex education in conservative settings is the lack of political will and institutional support (Haberland & Rogow, 2021).
