Relationship Between Great Toe Dimensions and Foot Mobility Among Young Adults

Abstract

The study examines the relationship between great toe dimensions and foot mobility among young adults. The great toe is an important anatomical structure involved in balance, propulsion, and weight-bearing during standing and walking, while foot mobility contributes to efficient movement and functional performance of the lower limb. Understanding the relationship between great toe dimensions and foot mobility may provide useful information on the structural and functional characteristics of the foot among young adults. The study will specifically determine selected dimensions of the great toe, including great toe length and breadth, and assess foot mobility among the participants. Great toe dimensions will be measured using appropriate standardized anatomical landmarks and anthropometric procedures, while foot mobility will be assessed through suitable standardized movements and range-of-motion procedures. The study will also determine the strength and direction of the relationship between great toe dimensions and foot mobility. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study.
