This study will examine the effect of adult learning on adults’ knowledge of basic network equipment. Adult learning activities related to networking may expose adults to basic network equipment such as routers, switches, modems, wireless access points, network interface cards, repeaters, hubs, and network cables. Learning activities may include equipment identification exercises, demonstrations, discussions, illustrations, practical connection activities, and guided networking tasks. These activities can help adults understand the physical features, functions, connections, and basic applications of different network equipment. Adults’ knowledge of basic network equipment refers to their ability to identify, describe, classify, and explain the functions and appropriate applications of commonly used networking devices. This may include knowledge of the purpose of routers, switches, modems, access points, network interface devices, repeaters, and network cables, as well as their basic roles in connecting and communicating between devices. Adult learning can strengthen this knowledge by combining explanations with demonstrations and hands-on activities that enable adults to observe and interact with different network equipment. The study will adopt a suitable descriptive survey research design. The population will comprise adults participating in selected adult learning, computer education, digital literacy, or vocational programmes, from which an appropriate sample will be selected using a suitable sampling procedure. Data will be collected through a structured questionnaire and a basic network equipment knowledge assessment designed to measure adults’ knowledge of equipment identification, functions, connections, and applications. The research instruments will be subjected to appropriate validation procedures, while their reliability will be established before administration. Data collected will be analysed using relevant descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to determine the effect of adult learning on adults’ knowledge of basic network equipment. The study is expected to establish that adult learning can improve adults’ knowledge of basic network equipment. Adults exposed to structured learning are expected to demonstrate better knowledge of equipment identification, functions, applications, connections, and basic networking roles. The findings may also indicate that practical demonstrations and guided networking activities enhance adults’ ability to distinguish between different network devices and understand how they contribute to communication and connectivity. The study will conclude that adult learning can provide an effective means of improving adults’ knowledge of basic network equipment. It will recommend that adult learning programmes provide relevant networking devices, visual learning resources, practical demonstrations, equipment identification exercises, and opportunities for guided hands-on practice. Improved knowledge of basic network equipment may contribute to greater digital competence, technical awareness, employability, self-reliance, and effective participation in technology-related activities
