Abstract

The study examines the effect of survival probabilities on life annuity values, focusing on how the likelihood of an annuitant surviving to receive future payments influences the actuarial value of life annuity contracts. Survival probabilities are fundamental components of life annuity valuation because annuity payments are generally dependent on the continued survival of the policyholder. Accurate estimation of these probabilities is therefore important for determining the present value of future annuity payments and managing long-term financial obligations. The study will investigate the relationship between survival probabilities and life annuity values by examining how variations in expected survival patterns influence the valuation of annuity benefits. It will assess the effect of different survival probabilities on the timing, duration, and expected value of future annuity payments. The study will also examine how changes in survival assumptions may affect the financial obligations associated with life annuity contracts. The analysis will focus on survival probabilities, mortality rates, life expectancy, annuity payment amounts, policy duration, interest rates, and present values. Actuarial life tables and survival models will be applied to estimate the probability of continued survival at different ages and periods. It is therefore recommended that annuity providers regularly review mortality and survival experience and incorporate appropriate survival assumptions into actuarial valuation models to support accurate pricing, adequate liability management, and sustainable annuity operations.
