Abstract

The study examines the effect of Insurtech adoption on actuarial decision-making, focusing on how the use of innovative digital technologies in insurance operations influences the quality, efficiency, and accuracy of actuarial decisions. Insurtech involves the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, cloud computing, and automated systems to insurance activities. The adoption of these technologies has the potential to transform traditional actuarial processes by improving access to data and supporting more efficient analysis of insurance risks. The study will investigate the effect of Insurtech adoption on actuarial decision-making by examining how digital technologies influence activities such as risk assessment, premium pricing, claims analysis, reserving, forecasting, and insurance portfolio management. It will assess whether access to real-time and high-volume data improves the ability of actuaries to evaluate risks and develop more reliable estimates. It is therefore recommended that insurance companies invest in suitable digital infrastructure, strengthen data governance, provide relevant technology training for actuarial professionals, and maintain appropriate professional oversight of automated systems. These measures will help maximize the benefits of Insurtech while promoting accurate, efficient, and sustainable actuarial decision-making.
