Abstract

Lifelong Learning Information refers to relevant information that helps adults understand available opportunities for continuous education, skill development, and personal improvement throughout their lives. Continuing education opportunities include structured learning activities that allow adults to acquire additional knowledge, skills, and qualifications after their initial education. The ability to identify such opportunities is important because adults need accurate information to recognize suitable options for further learning and development. However, inadequate access to relevant information may make it difficult for adults to recognize available continuing education opportunities. This study therefore seeks to examine the impact of Lifelong Learning Information on adults’ identification of continuing education opportunities. Lifelong Learning Information may include details about available courses, training programmes, workshops, learning institutions, entry requirements, programme duration, delivery methods, and areas of study. Adults can obtain such information through educational institutions, information centres, community organizations, online platforms, professional networks, and other reliable sources. Exposure to clear and relevant information can help adults become more aware of available learning opportunities and understand the characteristics of different continuing education options. Adults’ identification of continuing education opportunities refers to their ability to recognize and locate learning opportunities that are available for further knowledge, skill, or professional development. This involves identifying relevant programmes, recognizing where they are offered, understanding basic programme information, and distinguishing available learning options from other opportunities. Adults who can effectively identify continuing education opportunities are better positioned to explore further learning and make informed educational choices. Lifelong Learning Information can therefore provide the knowledge and awareness necessary for improving this ability. The study will adopt a quantitative research approach using a survey research design. The population will comprise adults participating in selected adult education and continuing learning programmes. An appropriate sample will be selected using a suitable sampling technique. The instrument will be subjected to appropriate validity and reliability procedures, while the collected data will be analysed using descriptive statistics and relevant inferential statistical techniques. The study is expected to establish that Lifelong Learning Information has a positive impact on adults’ identification of continuing education opportunities. Adults with greater exposure to relevant lifelong learning information are expected to demonstrate improved ability to recognize available courses, training programmes, workshops, and other learning opportunities. The study may further indicate that clear and accessible information helps adults become more aware of opportunities that correspond with their educational and developmental needs. The findings will have implications for the teaching and learning of Adult Education. Adult educators and programme providers may need to ensure that learners receive clear, timely, and accessible information about continuing education opportunities. Information-sharing sessions, educational orientation, learning opportunity directories, information materials, and appropriate digital platforms can help adults become more aware of available options. These approaches can strengthen the connection between adult learners and opportunities for continuous education. The study will be beneficial to adult learners, adult educators, continuing education providers, educational institutions, community organizations, and administrators of adult education programmes. Adult learners may benefit from improved awareness of available opportunities for further learning and development. Adult educators and education providers may gain useful information for improving the dissemination of learning opportunities, while institutions and programme administrators may use the findings to strengthen information services available to adult learners. The study recommends that adult education providers should improve the availability, clarity, and accessibility of information about continuing education opportunities. Adult educators should regularly provide learners with information about relevant courses, training programmes, workshops, and other learning opportunities through appropriate communication channels. Information should be presented in clear and understandable forms to enable adults to recognize available options easily. The study concludes that effective Lifelong Learning Information can improve adults’ ability to identify continuing education opportunities and encourage greater awareness of opportunities for continuous learning.
