Abstract

Adult education refers to organized learning opportunities designed to help adults acquire relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies, while learning opportunities refer to the chances available for individuals to access educational programmes, training, workshops, and other learning experiences. Market traders often engage in demanding commercial activities that may limit the time and resources available for formal learning. Adult education can provide flexible and practical learning opportunities that respond to the educational needs of market traders. Therefore, this study examines the impact of adult education on learning opportunities for market traders. Adult education for market traders may include literacy programmes, business education, financial education, vocational training, workshops, short courses, and other forms of non-formal learning. These programmes can provide traders with knowledge that is relevant to their daily commercial activities. Flexible schedules, convenient learning locations, practical teaching methods, and accessible learning materials can make adult education more suitable for traders who spend considerable time in their businesses. Market associations should also collaborate with adult education providers to identify the educational needs of traders and facilitate access to appropriate programmes. In conclusion, appropriately designed adult education can expand learning opportunities and support continuous educational development among market traders.
