Effect of Adult Learning on Adults’ Knowledge of Digital Creative Entrepreneurship

Abstract

Digital creative entrepreneurship involves the development of income-generating ventures based on creative skills, digital technologies, and creative products or services. It may include activities such as digital design, photography, video production, online publishing, digital illustration, creative writing, animation, and other forms of technology-supported creative enterprise. Adult Learning can provide adults with knowledge needed to understand the opportunities, processes, and requirements associated with digital creative entrepreneurship. Limited knowledge in this area may restrict adults’ ability to identify viable creative opportunities and understand how creative skills can be developed into sustainable entrepreneurial activities. This study will examine the effect of Adult Learning on adults’ knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship, with emphasis on how learning opportunities can improve their understanding of digital creative business opportunities and practices. Adult Learning can expose adults to concepts of digital creative entrepreneurship through workshops, practical activities, demonstrations, group discussions, and project-based learning. Through these learning opportunities, adults can learn about identifying creative business opportunities, developing digital creative products, selecting suitable online platforms, understanding target markets, promoting creative services, and managing basic entrepreneurial activities. Learning can also introduce adults to the importance of creativity, innovation, digital skills, customer awareness, and responsible online practices in building creative enterprises. Adults’ knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship refers to their ability to identify, explain, and understand the principles and opportunities associated with establishing and managing digitally supported creative ventures. Such knowledge may include awareness of creative products and services, digital marketplaces, online promotion, audience identification, pricing considerations, customer relationships, intellectual property, and basic business planning. Adequate knowledge can help adults recognize how creative abilities can be transformed into entrepreneurial opportunities while enabling them to make more informed decisions about participating in the digital creative economy. Adult Learning can therefore provide an important avenue for developing this knowledge. The study will adopt a suitable descriptive survey research design. The population will comprise adults participating in selected Adult Learning programmes, from which an appropriate sample will be selected using a suitable sampling procedure. Data will be collected through a structured questionnaire and an appropriate knowledge assessment designed to measure participants’ knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship. The research instruments will be subjected to appropriate validation procedures, while their reliability will be established before administration. Data collected will be analysed using relevant descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to determine the effect of Adult Learning on adults’ knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship. The study is expected to establish that participation in Adult Learning programmes contributes to improved knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship among adults. Adults exposed to relevant learning activities are expected to demonstrate greater knowledge of digital creative business opportunities, creative products and services, online marketplaces, audience identification, digital promotion, intellectual property considerations, and basic entrepreneurial planning. The study is also expected to indicate that practical and project-based learning can help adults connect their creative abilities with potential income-generating opportunities in the digital environment. The findings will have implications for Adult Education practitioners, entrepreneurship facilitators, digital-skills trainers, creative practitioners, and adult learners. Adult Education practitioners may incorporate practical creative-business exercises, digital platform demonstrations, entrepreneurial case studies, and project-development activities into relevant learning programmes. Such approaches can help adults better understand the relationship between creativity, digital technology, and entrepreneurship while encouraging them to explore realistic opportunities for developing creative products and services. The study will be significant because improved knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship can help adults recognize emerging opportunities within the digital economy and make more informed decisions about developing creative ventures. It will recommend that Adult Learning programmes provide accessible and practical learning opportunities covering creative business identification, digital promotion, online marketplaces, intellectual property, customer awareness, and basic business planning. The study will conclude that Adult Learning can serve as an important avenue for strengthening adults’ knowledge of digital creative entrepreneurship and supporting their participation in digitally enabled creative economic activities.
