Abstract
The study examines the modelling of claim development patterns for reserve estimation, focusing on how historical claims experience can be used to predict the future development of reported and outstanding insurance claims. Accurate understanding of these patterns is essential for estimating outstanding claims liabilities and ensuring that insurance companies maintain adequate reserves to meet future obligations. The study will investigate the development of insurance claims across successive development periods and assess how historical claims data can be used to estimate future claim payments. Particular attention will be given to cumulative paid claims, incurred claims, reported claims, settlement patterns, and the movement of claims from one development period to another.
