Abstract

The study examines comprehensive motor insurance claims experience, focusing on the patterns, characteristics, and financial implications of claims arising from comprehensive motor insurance policies. Comprehensive motor insurance provides protection against a broad range of risks affecting insured vehicles, resulting in claims that may differ substantially in frequency, severity, cause, and settlement value. Analysing claims experience is therefore important for understanding loss patterns and supporting effective actuarial assessment, underwriting, pricing, and claims management. The study will investigate the characteristics of comprehensive motor insurance claims and examine patterns in claim occurrence and claim amounts. It will assess variations in claims according to factors such as vehicle characteristics, driver information, type of loss, claim frequency, claim severity, and settlement outcomes where relevant data are available. The study will also examine the overall claims experience to identify patterns that may be useful for insurance risk assessment. The study will further analyse important measures of comprehensive motor insurance claims experience, including claim frequency, claim severity, loss ratios, average claim amounts, claims settlement patterns, and aggregate claims costs. Statistical techniques will be used to examine variations in these measures and identify significant patterns within the claims data.
