Sexual Dimorphism in Acromial Breadth Among Young Adults

Abstract

The study examines sexual dimorphism in acromial breadth among young adults. Acromial breadth, representing the transverse distance between the right and left acromial landmarks, is an important anthropometric measurement used in the assessment of shoulder dimensions, body proportions, and skeletal morphology. Variation in acromial breadth between males and females may provide useful information for understanding differences in upper body structure and overall anthropometric characteristics. The study will determine the acromial breadth of young adults and compare the measurements between male and female participants. The measurement will be obtained using standardized anthropometric landmarks and appropriate measuring instruments. The study will also describe the distribution of acromial breadth within the study population and examine the extent of variation observed between the sexes. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study. Young adults who meet the established eligibility criteria will be selected using an appropriate sampling technique. Data will be collected through direct anthropometric measurements of acromial breadth using standardized procedures and suitable anthropometric instruments.
