Correlation Between Scapular Height and Glenoid Cavity Breadth Among Young Adults

Abstract

The scapula is an important component of the shoulder girdle, and its dimensions contribute to the structural characteristics of the shoulder region. Scapular height represents the superior-inferior extent of the bone, while the breadth of the glenoid cavity reflects the transverse dimension of its articular surface. Understanding the relationship between these measurements may provide useful information on scapular morphometry and the structural proportions of the glenoid region. The study will therefore investigate the correlation between scapular height and glenoid cavity breadth among young adults. The study will determine the scapular height and glenoid cavity breadth among the participants and examine the degree of association between the two measurements. It will also establish the mean and variability of the selected measurements and determine whether differences in scapular height correspond to variations in glenoid cavity breadth. The study will provide morphometric information that may contribute to a better understanding of the proportional relationship between the overall scapula and its glenoid component. A cross-sectional descriptive research design will be adopted for the study.
