Abstract
Aviation insurance provides financial protection against losses arising from aircraft operations, including accidents, damage, and other insured aviation risks. Aircraft utilization rates indicate the extent to which aircraft are operated over a given period and may influence the frequency of exposure to operational risks. Understanding the relationship between aircraft utilization and insurance loss frequency is therefore important for effective aviation risk assessment and actuarial planning. This study will examine the effect of aircraft utilization rates on aviation insurance loss frequency. It will assess how differences in the frequency and intensity of aircraft operations influence the occurrence of insured losses. The study will also examine variations in loss frequency across aircraft with different levels of operational utilization. The study will focus on aircraft utilization rates, aviation insurance loss frequency, flight hours, flight cycles, aircraft operations, accident occurrences, insured losses, and exposure levels. Actuarial and statistical techniques will be applied to determine the relationship between aircraft utilization and the frequency of aviation insurance losses. It is therefore recommended that insurers incorporate reliable utilization data, flight hours, flight cycles, claims experience, and appropriate statistical and actuarial models when evaluating aviation insurance loss frequency.
